BYD cluster display: send a map behind the steering wheel

What can you show on the cluster?

• An app: pick any app installed on the car from the grid. It opens on the cluster; you can move your map or navigation app there.
• A mirror of the center screen: what you see on the center screen shows on the cluster too.
• Yoldaş data: speed, gear, battery percentage and battery temperature.
• Turn camera: when you signal, the side camera opens on the cluster. Turn camera

Speed and gear always show in the corner. It also works while driving. At any time, "Back to the car's cluster" gives the cluster back to BYD's own view.

How to turn it on

1. Start the Yoldaş helper

   In Yoldaş, tap "Start" on the System › Yoldaş helper page. In Android's permission window, choose "Always allow" once. No computer needed. Details

2. Choose what to show

   On the System › Driver display page ("Send behind the steering wheel"), choose an app, "Mirror centre screen" or "Yoldaş data". The "Show on driver display" shortcut on the Driving tab does the same thing.

3. Set the margins

   Set the left, right, top and bottom margins separately, from 0% to 40%. The change applies the next time it opens.

Which cars?

The cluster display is set up for the BYD Seal (10.25-inch cluster) and the Seal U DM-i (12.3-inch cluster). The car's software version must start with 13.

Safe return

• If the car data is more than 2.5 seconds old, the display closes and the car's own cluster comes back.
• If the app you chose leaves the cluster, the display closes; you can open it again.
• When the helper connection drops, Yoldaş lets go of the changes it made.

The Yoldaş helper only works with Yoldaş's fixed, approved list of commands; it does not accept general commands from outside.
