Why we build Yoldaş
Yoldaş is an independent app started by a computer engineer for his own BYD Seal. We want a car app for BYD owners that is easy to understand, reliable, and clear about what it does.
Our principles
- Plain explanations. We describe in plain language what each feature does and which data it uses.
- Limited, logged commands. We do not touch the brakes, steering or driver assistance systems. Car commands are limited to a short, approved list, and every command is logged.
- Your data is yours. Sharing of readings and location only turns on with your consent; camera recordings stay in the car.
- Signed releases. Every version is signed with the same key, and updates check the signature before installing.
How we build it
Every version runs on a real BYD Seal before release. We follow the topics BYD owners ask about most (installation, camera recording, remote control, charging) and set our priorities accordingly.
Yoldaş is free during the pilot. Feedback from owners means a lot to us.
Our relationship with BYD
Yoldaş is an independent app; it is not an official BYD app and is not affiliated with BYD. We use BYD and model names only to describe which cars it works with.
